Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Platform Engineer to build foundational services that empower product teams to move faster while controlling infrastructure costs. You will contribute to core platform services, enhance developer experience, and help shape the tooling and guidance for scalable deployments.

The role focuses on designing scalable platform primitives, leveraging Python/Go, AWS, and Kubernetes, and partnering with engineers to optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years operating and scaling distributed systems.
• Experience in cloud-native environments.
• Proven Python and/or Go development experience.
• Fundamental Linux and networking knowledge.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, API gateways & traffic management, observability, or async tooling.

Responsibilities

• Ship foundational platform services to improve engineering speed and confidence.
• Design and develop platform primitives (Infra, Databases, Queuing) aligned with platform vision.
• Build systems to improve availability, scalability, latency, and cost efficiency of core platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers to enhance performance, self-healing capabilities, and cost optimization.
