Job summary

Speechify, a fully distributed company, is hiring for a backend role focused on designing and maintaining scalable APIs in a fast-paced environment. The team builds core backend systems powering payments, analytics, subscriptions, and text-to-speech services across web, mobile, and extensions.

The ideal candidate has proven TS/Node backend experience, hands-on cloud knowledge (GCP, AWS/Azure), and comfort with Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform and knowledge of AWS/Azure or other cloud providers.
• Experience with containerization and deployment in cloud environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on enterprise client integration.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
