Job Description

Slav Construction Building Contractor is seeking a fully qualified and experienced Plasterer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will carry out high-quality internal and external plastering and rendering works across various residential and commercial construction projects in Ireland. This role requires precision, physical stamina, a strong commitment to health and safety standards, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative site team.

Location: 34 Sandhills, Hacketstown Road, Carlov Town, Co. Carlow

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Clean, prime, and prepare internal and external walls, ceilings, and other building surfaces to ensure optimal plaster adhesion. Secure wire mesh, laths, and corner beads securely to surfaces when required.
• Material Mixing: Mix dry plaster, gypsum, mortar, cement, or stucco solutions with water to the correct ratios and desired consistencies using hand and power tools.
• Plaster Application: Apply layers of wet plaster, skim coats, and external renders to walls, ceilings, and building partitions using trowels, hawks, floats, and spray equipment.
• Finishing and Levelling: Level, smooth, and finish surfaces to a high standard, ensuring they are free from defects and ready for painting or decoration.
• Drylining & Drywall Installation: Measure, cut, place, and fix internal plasterboard, wallboard partitions, and drywall insulation systems safely.
• Restoration and Repairs: Repair and restore damaged plasterwork or existing finishes on commercial and residential renovation projects.
• External Works: Apply weatherproof protective coatings and decorative finishes, such as sand or cement render and pebbledash, to building exteriors.
• Site Safety & Cleanliness: Erect and work safely from scaffolding or staging at various heights. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment in absolute compliance with site health and safety rules.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of proven, verifiable experience working as a professional Plasterer in commercial or residential construction.

Skills: Proficient in using specialized hand and power tools (trowels, floats, mixing drills, jointing knives). Comprehensive knowledge of different plastering materials, structural coatings, and mixing techniques.

Total remuneration for this role is €36,605 to €50,000 per annum based on experience.
