Job summary

Dexcom Ireland is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage direct and indirect material procurement for its first European manufacturing facility in Athenry. You will collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Global Procurement to ensure material availability, optimize inventory, and drive supplier performance to scale manufacturing operations.

The role emphasizes cross‑functional collaboration, supplier negotiations, and adherence to Dexcom quality systems.

Meet The Team

Our Planning team sits at the centre of Dexcom's manufacturing operations in Athenry, translating customer demand into executable production plans that ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. Working closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Engineering and Global Supply Chain teams, we drive alignment across demand, capacity, inventory and supply to support operational excellence and the continued growth of Dexcom's European manufacturing operations.

Where You Come In

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and supply of direct and indirect materials supporting Dexcom's first European manufacturing facility. You will work cross‑functionally with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Global Procurement to ensure material availability, optimise inventory levels, improve supplier performance and support the successful scaling of manufacturing operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining continuity of supply while driving operational excellence across the supply chain. Based on responsibilities listed in the Senior Buyer specification.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Generate, adjust and expedite purchase orders based on MRP requirements and inventory strategies.
  • Develop and communicate supplier forecasts to support capacity planning and material availability.
  • Manage procurement activities for direct and indirect materials within assigned supplier portfolios.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality and Engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
  • Establish and maintain inventory strategies that support manufacturing requirements while achieving inventory targets.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to support business objectives and minimise excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Review supplier delivery performance and drive corrective actions to improve service levels.
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management initiatives and participate in supplier business reviews.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, Supplier Quality and Quality teams to resolve supply and quality issues.
  • Manage supplier activities associated with Engineering Change Orders, product revisions and product lifecycle changes.
  • Support the resolution of purchase price variances, accounts payable discrepancies and Material Review Board dispositions.
  • Participate in cost reduction and local sourcing initiatives in partnership with Global Procurement.
  • Provide feedback and support regarding BOM accuracy, item master data and configuration management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Dexcom quality systems, purchasing procedures, regulatory requirements and applicable FDA regulations.

Required Qualifications
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems; Oracle experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes, material planning, MRP and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of configuration management, item master maintenance and bill of material structures.
  • Experience managing supplier performance and procurement execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Self‑motivated with demonstrated ability to operate independently and deliver results
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or other regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing start‑up, scale‑up or commercial operations.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion, Oracle EBS or equivalent ERP platforms.
  • Professional procurement certification such as CIPS, CPSM or CPM.
  • Working knowledge of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
