Job summary

KCMG in Dublin is seeking an experienced Piping Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will design piping systems, generate 3D models, isometrics, and GA drawings, and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry codes.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in piping design within industrial or process engineering environments
• Strong knowledge of P&IDs, piping layouts, isometrics, and pipe support design
• Experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AVEVA E3D/PDMS, Smart 3D, Revit, CADWorx, or similar software
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and related piping codes
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Develop piping designs including layouts, routing studies, 3D models, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings based on P&IDs and project specifications
• Select and specify piping materials, valves, fittings, supports, and associated components in line with project requirements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, structural, civil, electrical, and instrumentation engineers
• Participate in design reviews, clash detection, constructability assessments, and risk evaluations to ensure efficient project delivery
• Provide technical support throughout fabrication, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning while ensuring compliance with ASME, API, ISO, and other relevant standards

The Opportunity

As a Piping Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of piping systems throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for producing detailed piping designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting projects from concept through to construction and commissioning
