Job summary

Curative Care in Milwaukee seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist to serve the Birth to Three program in Milwaukee County. You will independently evaluate, treat, document, and follow through with patients, families, and providers.

The role includes education and coaching for colleagues and parents, mentoring students, and participating in continuing education and special projects. A Wisconsin PT license and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or DPT from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Current Wisconsin physical therapy license.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license and a vehicle in good operating condition.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate, treat, document, and follow through with patients, families, and providers.
• Handle simple to moderate case complexity with external providers and limited comorbidities.
• Supervise a graduate student and observation students when full-time.
• Educate and coach others about physical therapy and home programs.
• Provide in-service to the local department and carry out special projects.

This position services Birth to Three Program in Milwaukee County. Position can be full or part-time. Full time with benefits is anything over 30 hours per week. Essential Functions:

• Independent in evaluation, treatment, documentation, and follow through with patients, their families, and providers. Takes direction from supervisor and mentors; functions well with appropriate supervision.
• Ability to handle simple to moderate case complexity, involving one to two outside providers, mild behavioral or mental health issues and limited co-morbidities.
• Supervises a minimum of one grad student per year (8-12 weeks) plus two observation students, as appropriate if full time
• Provides education and coaching to others outside the physical therapy discipline. Examples include describing the role of physical therapy, advocating for physical therapy, instructing other disciplines on physical therapy treatment, educating physicians and other providers, instructing and coaching parents in home programs
• Provides in-service to the local department following attendance at a continuing education event
• Carries out special projects as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors, Master’s Degree or DPT degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current physical therapy license in the state of Wisconsin. If working in the Birth to Three program, must have a valid and current State of Wisconsin driver’s license and a vehicle in good operating condition.
