Job summary

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for University Hospital Limerick. The role focuses on supporting hospital pharmacy services, dispensing medications to wards, and maintaining accurate records within a regulatory framework.

The ideal candidate holds a recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification, is registered or eligible for PSI registration, and has hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised qualification as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in provision of a comprehensive hospital pharmacy service.
• Support preparation, dispensing and distribution of medications to wards and departments.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure stock control and inventory management.
• Assist with receipt, storage and supply of pharmaceuticals per regulatory requirements.
• Participate in medication reconciliation and support clinical activities where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, infection prevention and medication management policies.
• Liaise with pharmacists, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement within the pharmacy.

Pharmacist Technician required by Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE, for a new opportunity at University Hospital Limerick.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
• Support the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications to wards and departments.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure appropriate stock control and inventory management.
• Assist with the receipt, storage, and supply of pharmaceuticals in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in medication reconciliation and support clinical pharmacy activities where appropriate.

The Candidate:

• Hold a recognised qualification as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
• Have previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably within a hospital setting.
• Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Possess strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a busy environment.
• Be capable of working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Have a good understanding of medication management procedures and pharmacy best practices.
• Experience using pharmacy information systems and dispensing software is desirable.
