Job summary

Cpl Healthcare are partnering with University Hospital Limerick to recruit a Pharmacy Technician. The role involves supporting the provision of a comprehensive hospital pharmacy service, dispensing medications, maintaining records, and ensuring stock control in a busy ward environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification, be registered or eligible for PSI, and bring strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification.

• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
• Support the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications to wards and departments.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure appropriate stock control and inventory management.
• Assist with the receipt, storage, and supply of pharmaceuticals in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in medication reconciliation and support clinical pharmacy activities where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety, infection prevention, and medication management policies.
• Liaise effectively with pharmacists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement activities within the pharmacy department.

Pharmacist Technician required by Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE, for a new opportunity at University Hospital Limerick.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service in line with hospital policies and professional standards.

The Candidate:

• Have previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably within a hospital setting.
• Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Possess strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a busy environment.
• Be capable of working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Have a good understanding of medication management procedures and pharmacy best practices.
• Experience using pharmacy information systems and dispensing software is desirable.
