Job summary

The Safety Advisor / PSCS Representative will support Malone Group's delivery of Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) services. The role acts as the on-site representative, coordinating safety performance, inspections, RAMS reviews and reporting in a live pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction health and safety.
• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
• Experience on large capital, pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and Construction Regulations 2013.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Experience reviewing RAMS and permit-to-work systems.
• Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH) or progressing toward chartership.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support the discharge of PSCS obligations on designated projects.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and behavioural safety across construction activities.
• Attend project coordination meetings and provide professional health and safety guidance.
• Assist in coordinating contractors to ensure safe execution of works and prevent interface risks.
• Support implementation of the General Principles of Prevention during construction.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
• Monitor contractor compliance with project-specific safety requirements and legislation.
• Verify contractor RAMS and permit-to-work documentation.
• Escalate safety concerns and non-conformances through reporting channels.
• Support regulatory inspections and audits when required.
• Assist in developing and maintaining Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans.
• Ensure plans reflect site conditions, sequencing changes, and emerging risks.
• Communicate safety information to contractors and stakeholders.
• Coordinate between PSDP, contractors, and client representatives on safety matters.
• Participate in contractor safety reviews and prequalification assessments.
• Verify contractor supervision and safe systems of work.
• Assist with safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Report, record, and investigate accidents and near misses.
• Contribute to root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Track completion of corrective actions and share lessons learned.
• Support emergency preparedness exercises and response activities.
• Maintain inspection records, safety registers, and compliance docs.
• Prepare safety performance reports and KPI metrics.
• Assist in information for HSA notifications where applicable.
• Support project close-out activities and Safety File handover.
