Job summary

Apleona Ireland in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork, seeks a Reliability & Facilities Engineer to safeguard manufacturing assets in a pharma setting. The role focuses on improving equipment reliability, implementing preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance, and supporting GMP-compliant operations.

You will analyze failures with FMEA, track metrics like MTBF and MTTR, oversee building utilities and coach technicians in troubleshooting and data capture, with regular onsite presence.

Qualifications

• Degree, higher diploma or recognized trade qualification with relevant engineering experience.
• Demonstrable experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering or technical facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of reliability principles, RCA, FMEA/FMECA, asset criticality and preventive maintenance.
• Proven ability to extract, validate and interpret CMMS data for improvements.
• Experience with CMMS/CAFM platforms; Excel and Power BI desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate equipment reliability risks to prevent facility downtime.
• Develop and optimize preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
• Investigate equipment failures and use FMEA to prevent recurrences.
• Oversee building utilities, HVAC, power, water and related systems.
• Track indicators like MTBF, MTTR and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
• Support daily/weekly maintenance planning; identify risks and critical materials.
• Coach technicians in troubleshooting, fault coding and data capture.
• Escalate unresolved technical or compliance concerns through proper channels.
• Improve CMMS data quality by standardising asset hierarchy and codes.
• Ensure new/modified assets are correctly registered with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with owners and operations to align interventions with quality needs.
• Regular onsite attendance and flexibility for after-hours work.
