Job summary

PSC Biotech Corporation in Limerick, Ireland, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety specialist for a 12-month contract. You will help ensure compliance with pharma regulations and lead EHS initiatives across the site.

Responsibilities include developing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, delivering training, managing incident investigations, and maintaining EHS metrics. The role requires 3–5 years in pharma EHS and knowledge of Irish/European legislation.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Health and Safety or related field with 3–5 years' EHS experience in pharma or similar industry.
• Thorough knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation for pharmaceutical facilities in Ireland/Europe.
• Knowledge of behavioural based safety programs.
• Operational safety experience: Safe Systems of Work, LOTO, etc.
• Ability to lead and direct others, work in a team.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor environmental, health & safety programs to ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards.
• Drive writing/revising/rolling out of accurate operational procedures, training materials and EHS related procedures.
• Participate in process and system walk-downs and safety reviews with action follow-up.
• Identify and address site EHS issues and employee concerns.
• Perform EHS risk assessments such as chemical; biological; machinery; area; task specific; and make recommendations to control hazards.
• Develop, implement and maintain training programs for health, safety and environment.
• Maintain the EHS incident management process on site; manage incidents to closure with root cause analysis and CAPA management.
• Identify, implement and track corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate internal EHS auditing and inspection and follow up on corrective actions to ensure audit readiness.
• Responsible for the EHS internal intranet page as well as EHS communications.
• Identify and maintain EHS metrics, trending and reporting of same including dashboards.
• Work with EHS Managers to implement programs that enable the EHS strategy and install them.
• Build relationships with key departments to foster support for EHS programs.
• Available 24/7 for emergencies that may arise.
