Job summary

Sunbeam House Services in Ashford, County Wicklow, invites applications for a temporary Part-time Care Assistant (69 hours per month) in a residential setting. You will support clients to achieve personal outcomes and develop positive roles within the service and the community.

Working hours are Monday to Sunday; applicants should have QQI Level 5 in Healthcare and a full driving licence with access to a car.

Qualifications

• Passion for promoting and empowering those you support.
• Team player, able to lone work as well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant legislation.
• Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car.
• Post qualification experience of working with adults with intellectual disability is desirable.
• Legal right to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and implement a person-centered approach for clients.
• Promote and protect the rights and dignity of people in their care.
• Actively seek new interests and opportunities for people to develop meaningful roles in their communities.
• Ensure the overall wellbeing of clients in health and personal care.
• Assist in teaching life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning and building confidence.
