Job summary

The Rehab Group in Kildare Town, Co Kildare, invites applications for a Community Support Worker. This permanent part-time role supports individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges through community-based programmes and 1:1 support.

Applicants should hold QQI Level 5 in Social Care (or equivalent) and have a full clean driving licence. Experience with local community resources is highly desirable. Salary starts at €15.56–€17.74 per hour with progression to €21.56.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or equivalent
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Experience in the area of supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge and experience of local community resources is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • To plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community
  • To ensure best practice in line with up to date research regarding Quality of Life improvements.
  • To liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and key community based personnel in the pursuit of accessible community activities for service users

Skills

Full Clean Driving Licence
Experience in supporting individuals

Education

Job Purpose

To assist in the delivery of individualized community support to a number of individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges. Supporting individuals to be valued members of their local communities. Supporting individuals to optimize their emotional, social, occupational and learning experiences, through programmes offered within community. This role will also involve providing 1:1 support to an individual with social activities as well as working with groups in the community.

We offer a competitive starting salary of €15.56–€17.74 per hour (Points 1–5 of the scale), based on qualifications and experience. The 12-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €21.56 per hour.
