Job summary

EURAXESS Czech Republic is seeking a Perinatal Pathologist to join a well known hospital in Ireland. The Consultant Histopathologist will provide perinatal pathology and autopsy services, lead an MDT, and contribute to teaching, audit, and CPD activities within a multidisciplinary team.

Registration or eligibility to register as a specialist in Histopathology with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) is required.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive perinatal pathology services, including perinatal autopsies and placental pathology.
Perform post-mortems for perinatal, early neonatal, and early pregnancy losses.
Ensure compliance with nationally agreed turnaround times and laboratory quality standards.
Attend and contribute to perinatal mortality review meetings and MDT discussions.
Provide clinical leadership in MDT settings including mortality/morbidity and risk meetings.
Provide teaching and training to NCHDs and laboratory staff.
Participate in clinical audit, ethics committees, and quality improvement projects.
Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) and encourage research activity.
Promote open communication and uphold hospital values.
Contribute to service development, risk management, and compliance with accreditation standards.
