Job summary

Barry Group in Mallow, County Cork, is seeking a people-focused and practical People & Culture Advisor to join our team. This hands-on role supports managers and staff with day-to-day HR guidance and aims to deliver a positive employee experience across the business.

You will bring HR Generalist or Advisor experience, a solid understanding of core HR processes and employee relations, and strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HR Generalist or advisor role.
• Understanding of core HR processes and employee relations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to support managers; discretion with sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HR advice and support to managers and employees.
• Support employee relations matters including absence, probation, performance, grievances and disciplinary processes.
• Assist managers with employee meetings and documentation.
• Coordinate recruitment, offers, contracts, onboarding and probation reviews.
• Support return-to-work, welfare and absence review meetings with occupational health liaison.
• Assist with performance reviews, learning initiatives and manager development.
• Support employee engagement activities, surveys and action plans.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HR systems.
• Process starters, leavers, contractual changes, and payroll preparation.
• Help implement policies, systems and continuous improvement projects.
