Job summary

Zurich Insurance Ireland is seeking an experienced pensions lawyer to provide independent legal advice focused on trustee companies. The role may be full-time or part-time and is hybrid with 2–3 days in the office per week, primarily located in Blackrock.

Candidates should have 4–6 years post-qualification experience with pensions/trust law in Ireland. Strong drafting and advisory skills, plus familiarity with regulatory and insurance matters, will be essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Lawyer with 4–6 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience in pensions and trust law; insurance/financial services exposure in Irish context is a plus.
• Degree in Law or business-related field.

Job Summary

Zurich Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Pensions Lawyer. This role will provide professional and independent legal advice to Zurich’s business in Ireland, focusing mainly on Zurich’s trustee companies – Zurich Ireland Master Trust DAC and Zurich Trustee Service Ltd. This role may be available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

• Provide legal advice on pensions and trust law matters
• Provide legal advice on pensions regulatory matters.
• Provide general legal and regulatory advice on insurance and investment matters.
• Draft, negotiate, review, and advise on a variety of pensions, trust and commercial documentation
• Providing Company Secretarial support to Zurich’s trustee companies
• Ensure that advice accurately reflects applicable laws, regulations and practice.
• Mitigate legal risk and assist with commercial risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.

• Extended Legal Team in Ireland
• The Directors of Zurich’s trustee companies
• Relevant business contacts and senior management
• “Service provider” relationship with business contacts that call on advice

External:

• External lawyers

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

As a Pensions Lawyer your skills and qualifications will include:

• Relevant degree - Legal/Business
• Qualified Lawyer – Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-6 years post qualification experience
• Ideal candidate will have experience of pensions and trust law. Experience in insurance and financial services practice from an Irish legal and regulatory perspective also an advantage

Technical Competencies

• Practical understanding of pensions, trusts or financial services law and regulations
• Strong drafting and advisory
• Ability to research legislation

Additional Information

Primary work location is Blackrock based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.

This is a hybrid position which requires 2-3 days in the office per week.
