St John's Community Hospital, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. Eligibility to participate in Community Employment (CE) is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more, or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Eligibility will be verified by the Department.

Job Description

Patient Assistant/Activities Assistant required for St. John's Community Hospital, Enniscorthy. Working 19.5 hours per week as part of the Community Employment activity team. Garda Vetting is required and applicants must meet DSP criteria.

Duties

• Carry out daily activities with residents, including flower arranging, potting plants, gardening, Arts & Crafts, Music and Dance, Floor Games, Board Games, One to One interaction and group activities, Bingo, Quiz and Puzzles, Mobile Library, Spiritual needs, Educational programmes, Sports, History, Folklore, Local papers and other interests.
• Assist with Sensory Programmes until training is obtained.
• Assist residents with walks in the garden or on grounds, and with drinks and meals.
• Assist as Escort to medical appointments or social outings.
