Job summary

Nord Anglia International School Dublin is seeking a School Health Care Assistant to provide first aid and temporary care for students, staff and visitors. You will lead the daily operation of the sick bay and work with staff, parents and the school counsellor to support pupil wellbeing.

The role requires strong first aid skills, excellent organisation and a calm manner, with a genuine enjoyment of working with children.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid Response (FAR) from PHECC or equivalent qualification.
• QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support or Nursing Studies or related health qualification.
• Training in safe administration of medication incl. EpiPens and inhalers or willingness to complete.
• Garda vetting clearance and Tusla Children First e-learning completed before starting.
• Strong first aid skills and evidence-based practice when treating students.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn school management software quickly.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with staff and students.
• Genuine interest in children's wellbeing and school life.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and immediate care to students, staff and visitors.
• Manage the sick bay and coordinate with staff and parents for absences.
• Maintain accurate health records and confidential notes in line with policy and GDPR.
• Organise school health programmes and liaise with medical providers.
• Advise staff on medical needs during trips and events.
• Deliver health promotion activities for pupils and families.
