Job summary

Valeo is seeking a Test Engineering professional to establish and govern best practices for hardware and software tests in our NPI lab in Ireland. You will drive test process roadmaps, create and maintain test specifications, and collaborate with R&D Project Engineers to ensure product quality and testability.

Responsibilities include developing automated test solutions, performing GR&R and Cp/Cpk analyses, and leading continuous improvement across test activities.

• Familiarity with DFT, PFMEA and design reviews to ensure testability and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and Govern Test Best Practices: Define, implement, and enforce Test Engineering best practices and methodology, including S/W and H/W standardization, from Prototyping through Series Production
• Develop Process Roadmap: Create and deliver the strategic development roadmap for all assigned test processes, technologies, and tooling
• Cross-Functional Quality Alignment: Serve as the subject matter expert to provide detailed testability requirements for Design for Test (DFT), contribute to PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and participate in formal Design Reviews
• Process Ownership: Take full ownership of all assigned test processes in the NPI lab, including the creation, maintenance, and adherence to relevant internal standards (e.g., GSI-RD-H01-0000-540)
• Own Test Specification Lifecycle: Drive the review, cross-reading, and final sign-off for Test Specification delivery in collaboration with R&D Project Engineers
• Design and Implement Test Solutions: Design, develop, validate, and deploy the technical hardware and software solutions required to meet project test requirements
• Metrics and Validation: Complete and ensure all measurable parameters identified in the Test Specification meet acceptable quality criteria, including GR&R (Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility) studies and acceptable Capability Indexes (Cp,Cpk)
• Test Artifact Management: Create, validate, and manage the deployment of known Good and Bad Test Parts/Golden Samples necessary for rigorous test sequence validation
• Project Prototyping and Handover: Serve as the primary technical partner for the Test Tools Development and Project Teams in delivering early-stage P1-P3 projects through the prototyping lab, including ownership of build planning, reporting, and debugging
• Test Coverage Optimization: Complete detailed Test Coverage reports and actively implement strategies to maximize test coverage efficiency and effectiveness while minimizing test time
• Continuous Improvement & Feedback: Drive a culture of constant innovation by applying lessons learned from project execution back into the Autoline Process Owners and Test Best Practices
• Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate technical knowledge transfer and provide formal training to the Technician and Engineering groups as part of project handover and ongoing competency development
• Strategic Tooling Partnership: Maintain a close, collaborative relationship with Test Tools Development to influence the architecture and roadmap of next-generation test platforms
