Job summary

Greater Ohio Oral & Facial Surgery seeks a skilled Surgical Assistant to join our team, supporting surgeons during procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining efficient workflow in a multi-state network.

The ideal candidate holds surgical assisting certification or relevant training, with experience in oral/dental or medical settings and strong infection control and patient-care skills.

Qualifications

• Certification as Surgical Assistant or relevant training preferred.
• Experience in oral/dental or medical surgical settings preferred.
• Current DAANCE, Nitrous Oxide and CPR certifications required

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, as needed.
• Review and document patient medical histories.
• Ensure consent forms are completed and signed.
• Prepare and process patient prescriptions with accuracy.
• Monitor and record vital signs and anesthesia records.
• Provide post-operative monitoring and assist with patient release.
• Prepare and sanitize surgical and examination rooms.
• Support clinic operations and patient flow.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Dental/surgical assisting certification

DAANCE, N2O & CPR certifications

Surgical instruments & OR protocols

Infection control & patient safety

Interpersonal & teamwork skills
