Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Optical Deployment Engineer to build and rollout global DWDM networks, drive scaling, and develop processes across our Dublin infrastructure. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Math, Engineering, Science or Business.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with the rollout of large DWDM networks and Optical network technologies.
• Experience with optical planning and modelling tools.
• Professional development experience with Python or similar tool for network automation scripting.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting
• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols
• Experience with programming/scripting (Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby and/or PHP), or experience in Ubuntu/Solaris and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
