Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment in Ireland seeks an experienced operations leader to guide a multi-skilled team in a proactive, hands-on role. The position reports to the Senior Operations Manager and is a 12-month temporary contract, requiring a focus on safety, quality and production planning.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage priorities in a fast-paced environment and ensure effective communication within the operations group.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a multi-skilled Operations group in a team-based environment.

• Execute daily and weekly production plans to meet business commitments.
• Complete corrective and preventive actions to avoid repeats of defects and audit non-conformances.
• Maintain high levels of communication within the Operations team through regular routines.

Job description

The qualified candidate will be an excellent multi-tasker and should have previous experience leading a multi-skilled team in a pro-active, hands-on way, having responsibility for all aspects of shift team performance. This position reports to the Senior Operations Manager and is expected to play a key role as a member of the Wider Management Team. This is a 12-month temporary contract.

What You’ll Do for Us

• Manage, lead and motivate a multi-skilled Operations group in an empowered team-based environment, ensuring full engagement of team members.
• Ensure daily operations are carried out in compliance with all appropriate safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Execute daily and weekly production plans to meet all Business Plan commitments.
• Ensure timely completion of all corrective and preventive actions to avoid repeats of Service and Quality defects, and all audit non-conformances.
• Ensure a consistently high level of communication with the Operations team members through daily, weekly, and monthly routines.
• Drive, manage and embed operational excellence and a continuous improvement culture within the team to deliver improvements through lean principles and systems.

Qualification & Requirements

• Third level qualification, diploma or degree in a business or technical discipline required.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in people management in a people focused, team-based environment an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in a team based, matrixed, ambiguous environment.
• Ability to manage multiple conflicting demands and to prioritize accordingly.
