Job summary

Cpl in Limerick requires an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily operations within a regulated medical device environment. Reporting to the General Manager, you will ensure safety, quality, service, cost, and delivery objectives are met while maintaining audit readiness with ISO 13485 compliance.

You will drive performance through KPIs, develop teams, and mentor staff, shaping organisational development and succession planning in a fast-growing healthcare and pharmacy supplies company.

Qualifications

  • Significant operations management experience in a regulated medical device or life sciences setting.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proven track record in developing operational teams and improving performance.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client, an established market leading Healthcare & Pharmacy supplies company, based in Limerick city, which has grown internationally by design innovation in consumer healthcare & pharmacy products, are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their expanding team and to lead our clients’ daily operations in a regulated medical device environment.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, this role involves overseeing operational performance, quality and regulatory compliance, and organisational development.

Key Responsibilities to include
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, service, cost, and delivery objectives are met
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory to maintain audit readiness
  • Drive operational excellence through performance management and continuous improvement
  • Develop KPIs and management information to monitor performance
  • Plan resources and workforce according to business needs
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement among teams
  • Identify opportunities for organisational development and succession planning
  • Support employee growth through coaching and mentorship
  • Collaborate with various departments to achieve business goals
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Assist in the introduction of new products and technologies
Skills & Experience That We Need
  • Significant operations management experience in the medical device or regulated life sciences sector
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems
  • Proven track record in developing operational teams and enhancing performance
  • Skills in change management and navigating organisational transformation
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable Experience
  • Continuous improvement qualifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Experience in FDA-regulated environments
  • Background in manufacturing, supply chain, and service operations
The Offer

This is a permanent fully onsite position offering a competitive salary to reflect the complexities and responsibilities of the role plus benefits package, depending on the successful candidate’s experience.

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 4.30pm

Applicants must have unrestricted permission to work in Ireland, be available to interview in person, and live within a commutable distance of the client’s office in Limerick.
