Job summary

Design Build Search are working with a renewable specialist in Clare to recruit an Operations Manager who has an electrical background and solar experience. The role covers day-to-day site operations and overall business operations management.

Lead projects from concept to completion, manage resources and budgets, and ensure safe, compliant delivery while maintaining strong client and partner relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or Electrical trade with at least 8 years in fast-paced construction
• Strong IT skills and ability to generate site reports
• Proven leadership and staff management with safety focus

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to completion, defining technical requirements
• Develop project plans including timelines, costs and resources while ensuring profitability
• Establish relationships with clients, suppliers and partners
• Manage client concerns and ensure they are dealt with in a thorough and timely manner

• Plan resources including labour, materials and subcontractors
• Coordinate activities of contracted personnel and third parties
• Manage staffing requirements on site and liaise with HR regarding absences

Design Build Search are working with a renewable specialist in Clare who continue to expand. Due to growth they have an opening for an operations Manager. The successful applicant will come from an electrical background and have previous solar experience. This position will involve day-to-day running of sites and managing business operations.

Minimum:

• Degree qualified in either an engineering discipline or with an Electrical Trade background
• Minimum of 8 years’ extensive experience in a fast-paced construction environment
• In-depth knowledge of Electrical and Construction industry essential
• Strong IT Skills
• Proven leadership capabilities with solid commercial and financial awareness
• Excellent people management skills while delivering exceptional customer service
• Proven health & safety awareness with a thorough understanding of quality systems
• Strong understanding of financial and budgetary control (labour and subcontractors)
• Proficient in IT literacy with the ability to collate and generate detailed site reports
• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines

Duties include:

• Lead projects from the concept stage right through to completion, while defining the technical requirements of the project
• Creating and developing project plans as per the scope to include defining a timeline, managing costs and establishing the resources required while ensuring project profitability
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with the client, suppliers and other partners
• Manage client concerns and ensure they are dealt with in a thorough and timely manner
• Lead, develop and retain staff while ensuring the delivery of an efficient & effective service
• Planning of all resources including labour, materials and subcontractors
• Manage and drive a large team to meet all project requirements and deadlines
• Manage and co-ordinate the activities of contracted personnel and/or third parties
• Manage & authorise staffing requirements on site (i.e. overtime) and notify the HR Department of any unscheduled absences. Staffing requirements should be documented & reviewed weekly
• Ensure that records are maintained and updated as required
• Provide reports and updates on the progress of projects to the management team
• Ensure Company systems are implemented correctly upon the commencement of projects to include Safe Work Plans, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, etc.
• Ensure successful commissioning and handover of projects in accordance with procedure
• Responsible for the implementation and adherence of Company quality & safety standards
• Analyse budgetary information to assist in both monthly and annual budgetary forecasting
• Support both customer and Company audits, ensuring that optimum results are achieved
• Support the Projects Division in promoting a culture of excellent customer service and establishing exceptional working relationships with both your colleagues and the client.
• Act as a brand ambassador and lead the Company through its ongoing expansion
• Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business
