Job summary

Murphy Geospatial – A Woolpert Company, based in Dublin, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the Digital Engineering department. The role focuses on resource planning, project coordination, and client interface across geospatial projects in Ireland.

The ideal candidate has senior operational or project management experience in surveying/geospatial, strong planning skills, and the ability to manage multiple teams while maintaining QA and delivery standards. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Surveying, Geospatial, or related discipline.
• Proven experience in a senior operational or project management role within surveying or geospatial.
• Strong understanding of survey workflows, including data capture, point clouds and downstream deliverables (CAD/BIM).
• Experience managing multiple projects and teams in parallel.
• Familiarity with client environments and standards (infrastructure, mission-critical).
• Experience with resource planning and subcontractor management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage resource allocation with short- and medium-term forecasting.
• Coordinate handover from site to final deliverables with project team.
• Act as a key client interface ensuring clear communication and program alignment.
• Ensure efficient mobilisation of site teams, including RAMS, logistics and compliance.
• Support and enforce QA processes to meet specifications and client standards.
• Enable operational teams to perform efficiently through planning and problem solving.
• Support continuous improvement of planning, QA and delivery workflows.
• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and development of survey staff.
• Line manage and mentor team members.
• Undertake survey and inspection activities to support delivery.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to join our Digital Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous experience surveying and a keen interest in building their career in the geospatial industry whilst being involved in some of the most prestigious projects in Ireland. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Head of Department and will be based out of our Dublin office.

What You Will Do

• Plan and manage resource allocation (staff, subcontractors and equipment) with short- and medium‑term forecasting (2–4 weeks ahead)
• Coordinate closely with the project team to ensure smooth handover from site to final deliverables
• Act as a key client interface, ensuring clear communication, resource planning, programme alignment, and high service quality
• Ensure efficient mobilisation of site teams, including RAMS, logistics and compliance
• Support and enforce QA processes, ensuring data meets agreed specifications, tolerances and client standards
• Enable operational teams to perform efficiently through clear planning, communication and problem solving
• Support continuous improvement of processes, particularly around planning, QA and delivery workflows
• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and development of survey staff
• Line manage and mentor team members where required
• Undertake survey and inspection activities where needed to support delivery

What You Will Bring
