Operations Director | Main Contractor | Leinster

Oradeo has been retained by our client, a leading main contractor collaborating with some of the most prestigious clients, architects, consultant engineers, and contractors in Ireland and the UK. This high-profile role involves being part of the executive management team, leading and managing operations across Ireland on large, complex projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the successful delivery of multiple projects in Ireland, ensuring operational performance.
  • Participate in the Executive Management Team, advising on market trends and contributing to overall group management.
  • Develop strategic relationships within the construction market to secure future business and manage existing accounts with tier 1 and 2 partners.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, maximizing value for clients.
  • Operate autonomously and collaboratively with senior management, making key project decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee risk management to identify, understand, and mitigate project delivery risks.
  • Manage operational and commercial aspects of projects from tender to completion, maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Coordinate value engineering with design teams to maximize stakeholder value.
  • Control contractual documentation and maintain project programmes and records.
  • Participate actively in site meetings, resolving commercial issues promptly.
  • Lead and mentor project staff across design, programme, production, and regulatory areas.
  • Continuously seek operational improvements, streamline processes, and collaborate to add value.
  • Develop and nurture client relationships aligned with the company's business development strategy.
Necessary Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Senior-level experience, ideally with a main or specialist contractor.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and commercial skills, with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of current construction techniques, buildability, and value engineering.
  • Proven track record in successfully completing projects.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and financial acumen.
  • Experience in team leadership and management.
  • Professional network and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident presenter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
