Cumann Lúthchleas Gael is Ireland’s leading sporting and cultural organisation, overseeing Croke Park operations and major events in Dublin. We invite applicants for an Events and Operations Executive to support day-to-day planning, staffing, safety, and venue management.

The role requires strong organisation, stakeholder communication, and willingness to work evenings and weekends, with the Head of Stadium Operations overseeing delivery on event days and during safety audits.

Qualifications

  • Experience in event, venue, stadium or Health & Safety operations.
  • Ability to coordinate people, activities and resources.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety, risk management and compliance.
  • Strong organisation, administration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and event days as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Event Controller on event days and coordinate staffing.
  • Assist Stadium Safety Officer with audits and inspections.
  • Coordinate accreditation, briefings and parking allocations.
  • Provide admin support to Head of Stadium Operations and Event Controller.
  • Assist with budget management and contractor oversight.
  • Attend event days including evenings and weekends.

Job description

Cumann Lúthchleas Gael is Ireland’s leading sporting and cultural organisation with membership approaching one million people and more than 500,000 playing participants at all levels. Inspired and supported by the voluntary efforts of its members, the GAA is focused on the development and promotion of Gaelic Games and culture nationally and in local communities.


Home of the GAA, Croke Park Stadium is Ireland’s foremost sporting and entertainment venue. Over 1,500,000 visitors are welcomed annually to national and international events and the Croke Park campus also features Croke Park Meetings & Events and GAA Museum & Tours.

We are now accepting applications for Croke Park Events and Operations Executive reporting to the Stadium Operations department to play a key role continued growth and development of stadium operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Event Controller and Stadium Safety Officer on event days.
  • Fulfil the role of Match Day Event Control Liaison as required.
  • Assist the Stadium Safety Officer with Health & Safety audits and inspections.
  • Coordinate event-day staffing, accreditation, briefings and match-day parking allocations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of Stadium Operations, Event Controller and Stadium Safety Officer.
  • Coordinate stadium accessibility policies, procedures and related initiatives.
  • Manage Croke Park Go Games, Activity Days and pitch-side activations.
  • Assist with budget management and financial control.
  • Assist with event-day documentation, including contingency plans, risk assessments, Event Control checklists and operating procedures.
  • Assist with contractor management, including Health & Safety, insurance, sustainability and compliance with stadium house rules.
  • Assist with stadium projects and operational initiatives as required.
  • Collect, compile and evaluate event related data
  • Attend event days, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Undertake other duties and participate in ad hoc projects as requested by the Head of Stadium Operations & Events.
  • Previous experience in event, venue, stadium or Health & Safety operations.
  • Experience coordinating people, activities and resources.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety, risk management and compliance.
  • Strong organisation, administration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and event days as required.
  • Third-level qualification in Health & Safety, Event Management or related discipline.
  • Experience in a stadium, major events or sporting environment.
  • Experience with Event Control, risk assessments and contingency planning.
  • Experience managing contractors and suppliers.
  • Experience supporting budgets, accessibility, sustainability or compliance.
  • Knowledge of GAA/Gaelic Games.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to be flexible in performance of responsibilities; Role will require work at weekends and late evenings during some periods.
