Job summary

Air Apps in Lisbon seeks an experienced Release Engineer to own the release pipelines, versioning, and deployment workflows across web and mobile apps.

You will collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to streamline releases, automate builds, and uphold security and quality standards. The position is fully onsite at our Lisbon office with relocation support available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in release engineering, DevOps, or build/release management.
• Experience with CI/CD tools Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, ArgoCD.
• Strong Git version control and branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation.
• Familiarity with mobile/web build systems (Xcode, Gradle, Webpack).
• Strong troubleshooting, release risk assessment, and rollback planning.
• Experience in an agile development environment with fast release cycles.

Responsibilities

• Manage release pipelines to ensure smooth deployment of updates.
• Define and maintain versioning strategies across environments.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA, and DevOps for timely releases.
• Automate build, release, and deployment processes for reliability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot release issues to minimize downtime.
• Document release workflows, rollback plans, and deployment strategies.
• Ensure security, performance, and quality standards in all releases.
• Work with CI/CD tools to manage automated releases and feature flags.
