Job summary

Medmark Occupational Healthcare Limited is hiring an Occupational Health Nurse to provide comprehensive on-site OH services across client locations in Ireland. The role involves clinical duties, health surveillance, injuries, vaccinations and ergonomic assessments, with strong collaboration across stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will hold an OH qualification, NMBI registration, and at least 1 year of OH nursing experience, with excellent communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Occupational Health is essential (students considered).
• Registered General Nurse with a valid NMBI registration.
• Competency in audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, phlebotomy, VDU ergonomics and administration of vaccines.
• Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal, empathy and listening skills.
• Strong organisational and planning skills including time management with proven track record of prioritising tasks to a high professional standard.
• Strong team member with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in occupational health nursing.

Responsibilities

• Delivering occupational health services, first aid support, and emergency treatment across client sites.
• Managing occupational health casework including sickness absence management, medical case management, rehabilitation, and return-to-work programmes.
• Conducting pre-employment medical assessments, health surveillance programmes, fitness-for-work evaluations, and employee consultations.
• Assessing and managing workplace injuries and illnesses with follow-up and referrals to the Occupational Health Physician where appropriate.
• Administering vaccination programmes and supporting preventative health initiatives.
• Supporting pregnancy risk assessments and workplace adjustment recommendations.
• Developing and maintaining occupational health policies, procedures and communication protocols.
• Promoting employee health and wellbeing through campaigns and wellbeing initiatives.
• Providing OH support for ergonomics, workstation assessments, manual handling, and industrial hygiene programmes.
• Delivering training programmes such as manual handling, workstation setup, blood-borne pathogen awareness and shift work management.
• Collaborating with Occupational Health Physicians, client management teams, EHS teams and external service providers.
• Contributing to incident investigations and statutory reporting where required.
• Maintaining confidential medical records in line with GDPR and legal requirements.
