Post ID: 039538
Post Summary: The purpose of the role is to support the School's Online Learning Technologist in all aspects of the School of Medicine's diverse online learning portfolio. This involves working with academics and clinicians to develop teaching modules, including content, structures, and assessments. The role will demand a proven ability to innovate, develop, implement and manage online learning within the School of Medicine.
Helping colleagues to create with AI is a central part of this post. The post holder will be an experienced and inventive user of AI tools for producing learning content, and will work directly with academic and clinical staff to demonstrate what these tools can do and to build their confidence in using them. In this context AI is understood to include not only generative tools but also the speech, language, analytics, search and image technologies already present in the School's platforms and data, and the post holder is expected to draw value from all of them.
The post is concerned with the output of colleagues as much as with that of the post holder. A substantial part of the work involves taking a lecturer's initial idea to a draft they can review, edit and teach with, and leaving them able to repeat the process independently.
In driving the online learning strategy for the School, the post is not just administrative or technical, but will also contribute to academic areas of teaching and research in the area of medical education. Engagement with colleagues on clinical sites is critical to this role, including integrating adjunct and visiting staff who may be unfamiliar with Trinity systems and processes.
