Job summary

Blackrock Clinic is recruiting an Enhanced Staff Nurse for the Oncology team in the Florence Nightingale Unit. You will deliver high-quality nursing care, administer chemotherapy where appropriate, and support patients and families with a holistic approach.

The role requires 37.5 hours per week with potential rotation between inpatient and day units, and participation in outpatient coordination. Applicants should have NMBI registration and relevant oncology experience.

Qualifications

• Full Registration in the General division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
• At least one-year recent post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Chemotherapy competence preferred but not essential; training will be given onsite.
• A recognised post-registration nursing course in Oncology is desirable or be willing to undertake same.
• Hold an up-to-date Basic Life Support course or be in pursuit of same.
• Strong clinical and professional ability; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Competency in English language both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled practical care to Oncology and Palliative Care patients and participate in planning, delivery and evaluation of individualized patient care.
• Administer chemotherapeutic drugs following local policy and guidelines, prioritising patient and staff safety.
• Provide holistic support for oncology and palliative patients and their families.
• Rotate between inpatient unit and Oncology day unit as required.
• Participate in oncology outpatient clinic coordination.
