Job summary

Weltec Engineering is seeking a Lead Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee the on-site mechanical works for commercial and industrial projects in Ireland. You will manage engineering teams and subcontractors, coordinate with project managers, clients and consultants, and drive design support to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

Key focus areas include planning, installation, commissioning, site reviews and enforcing quality control throughout construction while maintaining a strong safety culture

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified with a National Craft Certificate or relevant third-level qualification.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory/foreman or construction management role.
• Strong leadership and team management with emphasis on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems across commercial and industrial sites.
• Manage on-site engineers and subcontractors to ensure high-quality, safe, and timely project delivery.
• Carry out site reviews of work areas as part of design and construction process to identify construction constraints.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, clients, and other trades to ensure smooth site operations.
• Management of Site Design and Construction processes.
• Manage and drive the team to meet with all project requirements and deadlines.
• Carry out inspections, testing, and quality control throughout the construction phase.
