Job summary

A leading consultancy firm is seeking a Resident Archaeologist to work on Light Rail projects in Dublin. The role requires a qualified archaeologist with extensive experience in excavation and management of archaeological investigations. Responsibilities include on-site supervision, review of reports, and maintaining accurate records. A third level qualification in Archaeology and a valid driving license are essential. This position offers an opportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• 10 years relevant post-graduate experience, or 5 years with Level 9 qualification.
• Experience in preparation of archaeological licence applications.
• Holds a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Archaeologist for Light Rail projects.
• On-site supervision and record keeping.
• Review various archaeological reports and method statements.
• Maintain comprehensive diaries of archaeological services.
• Assist in the administration of archaeological services contracts.

Skills

Qualified archaeologist

Experience in archaeological excavation

Ability to manage large scale archaeological investigations

Knowledge of Irish archaeology and heritage legislation

Site supervision skills

Experience with archaeological heritage impact assessments

Education

Third level qualification in Archaeology Level 8 (NFQ)
