Job summary

Sacyr UK and Ireland is seeking an OHLE Planner to support planning and delivery of DART OHLE maintenance and renewal projects. You will assist with developing, maintaining, and monitoring schedules under supervision, coordinating resources, and reporting progress to ensure safe and successful project delivery.

The role requires an engineering or related qualification, exposure to rail projects, and strong IT skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or related field.
  • Exposure to rail, infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects.
  • Strong IT and administrative skills and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining project programmes and schedules for OHLE works.
  • Update schedules with progress from site teams and project managers.
  • Support monitoring of performance against milestones and targets.
  • Identify changes and delays to senior planners.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing project data for reporting.
  • Produce routine planning reports and outputs.
  • Coordinate resources including labour, plant, materials, and access.
  • Attend project meetings and take follow-up actions.
  • Maintain planning records and ensure accuracy.
  • Liaise with engineering, construction, and management teams for updates.
  • Identify risks and opportunities affecting delivery schedules.
  • Ensure planning activities comply with procedures and railway safety standards.

The OHLE Planner for DART OHLE Maintenance & Renewal Services supports the planning and delivery of Overhead Line Equipment (OHLE) projects by assisting with the development, maintenance, and monitoring of project schedules. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and project teams, the role helps ensure that OHLE works are planned effectively, resources are coordinated, and project progress is accurately reported to support safe and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project programmes and schedules for OHLE installation, maintenance, renewal, piecemeals and upgrade works.
  • Update project schedules with progress information received from site teams and project managers.
  • Support the monitoring of project performance against key milestones and delivery targets.
  • Identify programme changes and escalation potential delays or issues to senior planners.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of project data for reporting purposes.
  • Produce routine planning reports, progress updates, and programme outputs.
  • Support the coordination of resource requirements, including labour, plant, materials, and access arrangements.
  • Attend project meetings and take notes on actions impacting programme delivery.
  • Help maintain programme documentation and ensure planning records are accurate and up to date.
  • Liaise with engineering, construction, and project management teams to gather information required for programme updates.
  • Assist in identifying project risks and opportunities that may affect delivery schedules.
  • Ensure planning activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and railway safety standards.
Essential criteria
  • Legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland
  • Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Exposure to rail, infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects.
  • Basic understanding of project delivery processes.
  • Strong IT and administrative skills.Excellent communication skills,
Desirable criteria
  • Experience gained through internships, placements, graduate programmes, or junior planning roles.
  • Understanding of railway industry standards and processes.
