Job summary

Stripe is seeking an Offensive Security Engineer to join the Proactive Threat team. You will simulate adversaries, conduct hands-on penetration tests across web apps, APIs, cloud environments, and internal infrastructure, and lead red team engagements to uncover security risks in Stripe's products and infrastructure.

You will build offensive tooling, apply threat intelligence to prioritize testing, collaborate with blue teams, and produce clear reports with risk-based recommendations for

Qualifications

• 5+ years in offensive security, penetration testing, red teaming, or related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Go, with tooling experience.
• Deep knowledge of web app security (OWASP Top 10, ASVS) and common vulnerabilities.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud-native attack techniques.
• Proficiency with offensive tooling and frameworks.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and TTPs.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate findings into risk-based recommendations.
• Adversary-minded thinking; creative and persistent in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive penetration tests across web apps, APIs, cloud, mobile, and internal infra.
• Lead red team engagements emulating cyber threat actors targeting financial services.
• Coordinate with defense teams to validate detection and response capabilities.
• Design and build offensive tooling and automation to scale assessments.
• Prioritize testing efforts using threat intelligence.
• Assist incident investigations with offensive expertise and log analysis.
• Develop and maintain custom tools and automation frameworks.
• Create actionable reports communicating findings and risk to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and lead projects end-to-end.
• Stay current with emerging threats and share research internally.
