Windmill Healthcare Group in Ferbane is seeking an experienced Full-time Activities Assistant to join our Care Team at Ferbane Care Centre. You will help deliver a comprehensive activities programme for residents, working with the Director of Nursing and staff to enhance quality of life.

Responsibilities include coordinating recreational and special activities, recording attendance, liaising with local libraries, and supporting residents with confidentiality and dignity.

Qualifications

• Essential: Leaving Certificate.
• Experience in a Nursing Home or Social Care environment.
• Desirable: Sonas Course Level 1 & 2.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate recreational, physical and individualised activities for Ferbane residents.
• Review resident activity assessments regularly or on needs change basis.
• Identify needs of the group and individuals and tailor activities.
• Record attendance in EpiCare using Therapies notes.
• Encourage involvement from Ferbane Care Centre residents.
• Establish open relationships and encourage participation.
• Educate Ferbane staff to provide resident activities.
• Plan and implement special activities (outings, garden visits, parties, seasonal celebrations).
• Liaise with local library services for residents' books and facilities.
• Report concerns about residents to the lead nurse.
• Attend training courses to enhance service.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and the Home.

Windmill Healthcare are currently recruiting for experienced Full-time Activities Assistant to join our Care Team at our Ferbane

The role of the Activities Assistant at Ferbane Care Centre is to assist in the provision of quality care to clients/residents by the provision of a comprehensive activities programme for residents in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversee and coordinate the appropriate recreational, physical and individualised activities programme for the residents of Ferbane Care Centre
• Review resident activity assessments on a regular basis or on a needs change basis
• Identify the needs of the collective group and individuals and tailor the activities to suit them
• Record the attendance of residents at all activities in the house and out of the house in EpiCare using the Therapies notes.
• Encourage involvement from the residents of Ferbane Care Centre
• Establish an open relationship with each resident and encourage each resident to participate
• Educate Ferbane Care Centre staff to provide resident activities.
• Planning and implementing special activities which include (but are not limited to) outings, garden visits, birthday parties, Christmas and other seasonal celebrations.
• Liaise with local library services in assisting residents selecting and returning library books and or any other facility they provide.
• Report any concerns about a resident to the lead nurse in charge
• Attend training courses both in-house and at other locations to meet and enhance the service being provided by Ferbane Close Care Centre
• To undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Nursing.
• Be aware of the confidential nature of the work and in particular, the right of residents to confidentiality. To this end, you will not discuss the workings of the Home or its residents with people outside the Care Centre
