Job summary

Curam Care Homes is recruiting a part-time Activities Assistant for our Navan Rd Dublin 7 care home. You will help deliver a Meaningful Activity Programme to keep residents engaged in everyday life, including those with cognitive or physical impairments.

The role emphasizes good communication with residents and colleagues, supports a variety of hobbies such as arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and music, and offers flexible hours, on-site work, and staff training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in care of the older person in residential care is advantageous.
• IT skills expected; training provided.
• Familiarity with EpicCare platform desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desirable: Sonas Programme Course.

Job description

We are recruiting a part time Activities Assistant to join our Navan Rd Dublin 7 Care Home.

The Activities Assistant assists in the implementation of a Meaningful Activity Programme within the home to ensure that all residents can participate in meaningful and life enhancing activities as part of their daily life in residential care. This includes older people with cognitive, physical, sensory and intellectual impairments.

Requirements

• Experience working in Care of the Older Person within a residential care home setting is advantageous.
• Relevant experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided:
• Sonas Programme Course completed is desirable but not essential as training will be provided;
• A good level of IT skills;
• Familiarity of EpicCare platform is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with colleagues and residents;
• Demonstrable skills in cooking, gardening, knitting, music, arts and crafts is desirable.
