Job summary

Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 for St Mark's Ward in a busy on-site setting in Lucan, Co. Dublin. The CNM1 will lead nursing services, plan resources, and drive quality improvement across oncology, medical, and cardiology care.

The role requires NMBI registration, ACLS (or progress toward) and strong leadership, communication, and budgeting skills to support safe, patient-centred care with professional development for the team.

Qualifications

• Be registered in the general division of the NMBI.
• At least two years post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting; one year in medical/oncology nursing.
• Hold ACLS or be pursuing it.
• Clinical and management leadership skills.
• Negotiating skills and quality focus.
• Risk management & clinical audit; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the ward and coordinate nursing services for patients, ensuring safe, quality care.
• Plan and monitor human and budget resources for an effective service.
• Lead developments in specialist nursing services and innovations.
• Maintain accurate nursing records in line with NMBI and legal requirements.
• Foster communication with multidisciplinary teams and patient confidentiality.
