Job summary

Cognizant Life Sciences Manufacturing in Ireland seeks an experienced Automation Engineer for its New Product Introduction (NPI) site, reporting to the Automation Lead. You will work with process SMEs, CQV leads, and other automation engineers to translate requirements into functional designs.

The role requires 5+ years in biotech GMP, Emerson DeltaV experience, PLC/SCADA, strong documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver validated automation solutions.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Chemical Engineering with substantial experience.
5+ years as Automation Engineer in biotechnology GMP environment with DeltaV and PLC/SCADA.
Strong documentation skills and ability to liaise with process engineers to define scope.

Responsibilities

Work as part of an experienced Automation NPI site project team.
Collaborate with Process SMEs, CQV leads and automation engineers to capture requirements.
Produce input into functional design specifications from stakeholders.
Sign off on functional design aspects as required.
Implement Automation Change Packs (ACP) to effect code changes.
Support project reviews with key stakeholders within Automation and customers.
