The Defence Forces, based in Naval Base Haulbowline, Co Cork, seeks Naval Service Recruits. Recruits undergo rigorous training to develop discipline, seamanship, and basic military skills, with opportunities to advance to Able Rate after initial training.

Qualifications

• Discipline and teamwork orientation
• Good physical fitness
• Willingness to deploy at sea

Responsibilities

• Complete basic recruit training (13 weeks) to build physical fitness, discipline and basic military skills
• Progress to branch-specific training in Seamanship, Communications, Mechanicians or Supplies
• Serve aboard Naval Service ships during two-year sea rotations
• Participate in general maintenance, boat operations, firefighting and damage control
