Job summary

Make-A-Wish Ireland is seeking a National Volunteer Co-ordinator to develop and implement a new volunteer model across the country. You will recruit, train and empower volunteers and work with multiple departments to fulfil the charity's mission.

The role requires strong communication, organisational skills and experience with database systems (Salesforce or equivalent). Evening and weekend work, travel within Ireland, and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating and supporting volunteering projects.
• Ability to recruit, motivate and empower volunteers.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with Salesforce or equivalent database.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, interview and train new volunteers.
• Collaborate with community groups to recruit diverse volunteers.
• Promote volunteering through recruitment and campaigns.
• Manage volunteer applications and ensure compliance.
• Maintain Garda vetting and volunteer records.
• Coordinate volunteer administration and policy updates.
• Drive volunteer strategy with Wishgranting and Fundraising.
• Support STARBOARD project development.
• Engage with affiliate community to share best practice.
• Support event coverage for fundraising activities.
