Job summary

Winthrop Technologies in Ireland is seeking an experienced MV Commissioning Engineer to join our team on site in Dublin. You will plan, coordinate and execute MV commissioning activities for critical data-centre projects, supervising vendors and ensuring safety and quality standards.

You will liaise with the Commissioning Manager and project teams to ensure systems are tested, energised and handed over according to project documentation, with a strong emphasis on safe practices and timely

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar electrical commissioning role.
• Proven MV electrical systems experience on critical infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to supervise vendors and sub-contractors on site.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate MV commissioning activities for electrical packages and vendors.
• Ensure commissioning aligns with project scope, specs and procedures.
• Coordinate with MV equipment manufacturers and sub-contractors.
• Prepare weekly commissioning progress reports for management.
• Oversee FAT/FWT and off-site testing as required.
• Coordinate energisation, switching, isolation and permit-to-work processes.
• Review and track documentation including test scripts and procedures.
• Support commissioning of MV switchgear, transformers and protection systems.
• Identify issues and coordinate corrective actions with teams.
• Promote safety, quality and environmental culture across commissioning.
