What You’ll Do
As a Multi-Task Attendant, you will work across a range of functions within the nursing home, including laundry, catering, and cleaning. Your responsibilities will include:
Kitchen Assistant
- Ensure health, safety, food handling, and infection control standards are followed in the catering area.
- Support the Catering Supervisor/Cook with ordering, receiving, and maintaining food in accordance with safe practices and legislation.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of quality meals and home baking.
- Help ensure menus are balanced and meet the individual needs of our residents.
- Gain knowledge of nutrition and diet standards suitable for older people, including the Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST) guidelines.
- Ensure food is stored safely and in compliance with standards.
Housekeeping Assistant
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the nursing home.
- Perform cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, polishing, and mopping various areas, including kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces.
- Manage waste disposal in a hygienic manner and adhere to infection control procedures.
- Report defects and any issues that could affect the standard of service.
Laundry Assistant
- Prepare residents' laundry, sorting soiled clothing and linen for processing.
- Coordinate with external laundry services when needed.
- Fold and store clothing and linen, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Adhere to health, safety, fire, and infection control standards in the laundry area.
Education & Qualifications
- Current and valid certificates in Infection Control, Chemical Awareness, Food Handling, HACCP, Manual Handling, Resident Moving & Handling, and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (training can be provided if needed).
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in elderly care within a residential care home setting is preferred.
- Strong focus on health and safety procedures at all times.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional care to older people with patience, a sense of humour, and a positive attitude.
