Job summary

Sterling Engineering in Sligo is seeking a Moulding Engineer for a 12-month contract to support a regulated manufacturing operation. You will apply injection moulding expertise to optimise processes, troubleshoot issues, lead root-cause investigations, and assist NPI and process validation.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Polymer Engineering, has strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proactive, detail‑oriented approach in a GMP

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Polymer, Plastics Engineering or related field.
• Proven injection moulding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of moulding processes, tooling and process optimisation.
• Experience with validation and qualification activities is highly desirable.
• Experience in regulated environments (pharma/medical devices) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for injection moulding processes, tooling and equipment.
• Optimise moulding processes to improve quality, yield, cycle times and overall efficiency.
• Troubleshoot moulding and process issues and lead structured root-cause investigations.
• Support mould trials, process validation, qualification and equipment start-up activities.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and engineering improvement projects.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Tooling teams to resolve technical issues.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, specifications and technical reports.
• Support deviations, CAPAs and change controls where required.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Ensure all activities comply with GMP, quality, health & safety and environmental requirements.

Moulding Engineer 12-Month Contract Location: Sligo

We are seeking an experienced Moulding Engineer to join a leading manufacturing operation in Sligo on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong injection moulding experience to work within a highly regulated and technically advanced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience with validation and qualification activities is highly desirable.
• Experience within a pharmaceutical, medical device or other regulated environment would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering results.
