Job summary

Gourmet Food Parlour in Dublin is seeking a Full-time Deli Assistant to join our catering kitchen in Santry. You will prepare a range of cold deli items, including sandwiches, wraps, salads and fruit pots, working closely with the Head Chef to meet GFP standards.

The role offers early starts (around 5am) and opportunities to develop skills in catering and hospitality, with a friendly team environment focusing on quality, presentation and food safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a deli, kitchen, catering or food preparation environment is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly around presentation and quality.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy catering environment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions and production requirements accurately.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Flexible and willing to support the wider kitchen team when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sandwiches, wraps, salads, fruit pots and other cold deli items to GFP recipes and standards
• Complete all preparation required for the cold section in line with daily catering requirements and production schedules
• Ensure all products are prepared accurately, consistently and to a high standard
• Pay close attention to presentation and portion control to ensure a quality product and excellent customer experience
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work station, following a clean-as-you-go approach
• Follow HACCP procedures and all food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Ensure correct storage, labelling and rotation of food products
• Assist with stock control and minimise food waste
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines and catering requirements
• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining high standards across the kitchen
• Work effectively as part of the wider catering team and assist other sections when required
• Maintain a positive and proactive attitude and be willing to learn and develop your skills
• Comply with all Health & Safety, food safety and company procedures
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Head Chef or management
