The Maples Group’s Internship Programme offers a 4-week June internship based in Dublin, with involvement in legal work, meetings, drafting and research. The programme serves as a foundation for the Traineeship Programme, aiming to identify future trainees and shape careers within the firm.

Job description

The Maples Group’s Internship Programme provides interns with the opportunity to see what it is really like to work in a global law firm. During their time with us, interns will be involved in legal work, including meetings, drafting and research. They will also have the chance to meet trainees, solicitors and partners across all practice areas. We are committed to making sure that interns receive excellent training and develop their skills. Of course, they also get to enjoy the social side of life, with many events and activities which allow them to connect with other interns and the entire firm.

The programme runs for four weeks during the month of June each year. You will primarily be based in our Dublin office, however, you will be involved with international transactions, clients and advice. The programme includes a mix of training; department, committee and global talks; various workshops, Q&A sessions and a number of social activities to ensure a holistic experience for all our interns.

Our Internship Programme is the foundation of our Traineeship Programme as it allows us to identify our future Trainees. The Internship Programme is the first step in your career with the Maples Group and gives you the opportunity to experience life here with us. The thing I most enjoyed about the Maples Group has been the collegial and collaborative environment within the firm. I was thoroughly impressed with how approachable and helpful my supervising partners, trainee buddy, and the entire Maples team were over the past month.

I found both the individual and group assignments very engaging, and I felt they gave me a great opportunity to learn more about the work and services of the Maples Group. It also gave me the opportunity to approach people within the firm and to get to know my fellow interns.

Over the course of this internship, I found that the Maples Group’s core values are truly an integral part of the firm’s culture. In particular, I found the emphasis on teamwork and communication was evident throughout the firm at every level.

I was really impressed that every person I worked with, including trainees, associates, HR professionals, and partners always made the time to help with whatever question or issue I had.
