Overview

ATG are seeking a skilled and motivated Mining Geologist to support our ongoing mining operations and exploration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economic geology, mineral resource estimation, and mine geology, with experience working in active mining environments.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct geological mapping, core logging, sampling, and data collection for both surface and underground operations.
  • Interpret geological data to support resource modeling, grade control, and mine planning.
  • Assist in the design and execution of drilling programs, including RC and diamond drilling.
  • Utilize geological software (e.g., Leapfrog, Surpac, Micromine) for 3D modeling and data interpretation.
  • Collaborate with mine engineers, surveyors, and metallurgists to optimize extraction plans.
  • Monitor and report on ore quality and ensure reconciliation of production against geological models.
  • Maintain and update geological databases in line with QA/QC procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports, maps, and cross-sections for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a mining or exploration geology role (base metals, zinc-lead-silver preferred).
  • Strong understanding of structural geology and ore deposit models.
  • Proficiency in geological modeling software and GIS tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel or relocate to site as needed.
  • Knowledge of Irish geology and mining regulations is a plus.
