Job summary

European Tech Recruit is partnering with a global leader in semiconductor and wireless technology to hire a Microcontroller Subsystem Design Engineer in Cork, Ireland. The role focuses on shaping digital designs for embedded processing and involves multi-clock, low-power RTL design.

You will collaborate with DFT, Implementation, Verification, Emulation, and Firmware teams, optimize for area, power and performance, and contribute across the full development lifecycle from design to post-silicon

Qualifications

• Design complex digital logic blocks across multiple power and clock domains.
• Develop RTL code handling multi-clock, high-frequency designs.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues during development and post-silicon bring-up.
• Optimize designs for area, power and performance.
• Collaborate with DFT, Implementation, Verification, Emulation and Firmware teams.

Job description

We are partnered with a global leader in semiconductor and wireless technology innovation. The team is looking to hire a Microcontroller Subsystem Design Engineer to shape cutting-edge digital designs for embedded processing solutions.

This is a permanent, fully onsite opportunity based in Cork, Ireland.

Key responsibilities for this Microcontroller Subsystem Design Engineer position:

• Design micro-architecture for simple and complex digital blocks.
• Develop RTL code handling multi-clock designs, high-frequency requirements, low power, and low latency.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues during development and support post-silicon bring-up activities.
• Optimise designs for area, power, and performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with DFT, Implementation, Verification, Emulation, and Firmware teams.

Key requirements:

• Experience designing complex digital logic blocks across multiple power and clock domains.
• Knowledge of ISAs such as ARM THUMB or RISC-V.
• Understanding of processor or microcontroller system design.
• Proficiency in Python or Perl for scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with industry-standard digital design tools and challenges of lower node technologies.
