Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment is assisting a leading global medical technology company in Cork to recruit a Microbiology Technician on a 12-month contract. The role covers environmental monitoring, bioburden and endotoxin testing, data analysis, and lab reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a science degree in Microbiology (or related field) and has GMP experience, strong documentation skills, and a collaborative approach to support process and quality improvements in a highly regulated

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Science, Microbiology or related discipline.
• Experience in GMP environment is preferred.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and investigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform or review Environmental Monitoring at the plant (Microbial, Particulate, Water).
• Perform or Review product testing (Bioburden and Endotoxin).
• Collect, compile and analyse data and prepare laboratory reports.
• Assist in investigations into out of specification results.
• Maintain 5S standards in the Microbiology lab and office area.
• Support process and quality improvements and regulatory compliance.

Our client is a leading global medical technology company with a strong presence in Cork, specialising in innovative healthcare solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a Microbiology Technician to join an established team within a highly regulated and technology-driven environment on a 12 month contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform or Review Environmental Monitoring at the plant (Microbial, Particulate, Water).
• Perform or Review product testing (Bioburden and Endotoxin).
• Collect, compile and analyse data and prepare laboratory reports.
• Assist in any investigations into out of specification results.
• Involvement in ordering materials for laboratory.
• Maintain 5S standards in the Microbiology laboratory and office area.
• Support the business with regard to process improvements and quality improvements.
• Ensure compliance to BSC Cork, Corporate and Regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to Bioburden and Endotoxin monitoring.
• Good team player, organised, accurate, excellent documentation skills
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
• Maintains flexibility to support critical production requirements beyond normal working hours when required

Education & Experience

• Third level qualification in Science, Microbiology or related discipline.
• Ideally 6 -12 months’ work experience within a GMP environment.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Strong Team Player and excellent collaborator.
• Experience in investigation and problem solving.
