Job summary

Viatris is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician II to perform day-to-day microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products, and environmental monitoring in classified areas. The role includes completing GMP documentation, report writing and data review to support quality manufacturing.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a science field (preferably Microbiology) with 2–4 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology lab, and is skilled in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Science related discipline (preferably Microbiology)
• 2-4 years’ experience within a Microbiology department of a pharmaceutical company
• Ability to perform Sterility, Bioburden and Endotoxin testing
• Knowledge of USP and Ph. Eur. microbiological requirements
• Experience with FDA/HPRA regulated facilities
• Familiar with environmental monitoring in sterile manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Testing of raw materials, in-process & finished products, waters and validation samples for bioburden.
• Testing of materials for endotoxin using Gel Clot or Kinetic assays.
• Testing of finished product samples and components for sterility.
• Environmental monitoring of classified areas and compressed gases.
• Identification of microorganisms to species level.
• Growth promotion and sterility testing of microbiological media.
• Support the process qualification and stability programs.
• Perform test method validations and assist in reports.
• Review of raw data and lab logbooks.
